About
I am interested in the Philosophy of Food and Gastronomy, especially in the areas of epistemology, metaphysics, ethics, and aesthetics of food. I am also interested in Aristotle, and use him often as a point of departure for my reflections on food and gastronomy. I am also interested in interdisciplinary studies on the psychology, anthropology, history, and sociology of food, particularly with respect to food habituation, and the forming of personal and collective memories.
My research on Aristotle extends to philosophy of perception, and ethics (particularly with respect to habituation and how we make decisions).
I am also interested in Feminist Philosophy and the literature on exile and hospitality. Part of my research on this area is on the personal identity of people (particularly women) that are exiled (physically and/or culturally), and the relation of hospitality into which the exile and her new community enter. For this reason I am also interested in the concepts of place, space, and home.
